About the Author

Maryanne Tierney Jonas grew up in Park Ridge, New Jersey during the 1970s and 80s.   She lived on the east side of town with her parents and brothers.  The kids on the block regularly played kick the can, running bases,  hide and seek and canasta (if it rained).  All of the kids played until Mrs. Tierney rang the giant bell in front of their house and then everyone went home for dinner.    Maryanne was raised by her parents but also by a village of women many of whom lived on that block.  She will be forever grateful for their love and care.

Maryanne attended Fordham University and graduated in May of 1991.  The following week, she went to work for a company in NYC where unbeknownst to her, she would meet her soul's mate.  In 1997, her closest friends told her to marry Grant Jonas and threatened to marry him if she did not.  It was hands down the best decision of her life even if she did not say all of the vows.

Maryanne and Grant have been married for 25 glorious years and have two sons and three dogs.  They currently live in Davie, Florida.
